This is the first Nico solo album and a long long way away from the inspired but terrifying avant churn of albums like Desertshore. Here she is in full on folk mode and with covers of songs by the likes of Lou Reed, Jackson Browne and Tim Hardin this is a lovely pastoral work of art that stands on it’s own as her one moment of real conventional music making.
