The Selecter Live At The Round House

, ,

byThe Selecter

The Selecter needs no introduction. Fronted by the ‘Queen of Ska’, Pauline Black and Arthur ‘Gaps’ Hendrickson and backed by an incredibly talented band of musicians, The Selecter is the original two-tone group, still as relevant today as it was in the 1970s.

Last year they hit the road with life long friends The Beat, featuring Ranking Roger for a number of sell-out co-headline shows throughout the UK and Europe.  Originally meant to be a six-date tour it turned into 40 dates, selling over 40,000 tickets including a sold-out show at London’s The Roundhouse. It proves that the musical and cultural movement with its underlying political statements are still as relevant in today’s climate as it was over 30 years ago.

Pauline Black sings with passion and conviction classic songs such as ‘Three Minute Hero’ and ‘Missing Words’ from their debut album Too Much Pressure as well as songs from their last album Daylight which was released alongside the tour.

This live compilation is a credit to the two-tone movement and the icons it has created along the way – throwing back to a time changed but still sounding as fresh as ever! Go out and buy it before you regret it!

Stand out track: Too much pressure/pressure drop
